Slow Poke Quilter
It's not a race.  It's about enjoying yourself along the way.
I'm a slow poke quilter.

And that's okay.

I love The Process of making quilts.

I love the journey; piecing and quilting is not "work" to me, but play.

I don't mind taking my time, enjoying every moment, every stitch.

Yes, I love to finish quilts, and that's the ultimate goal, but the process of creating the quilt, of choosing fabrics, of stitching them together is pure joy and every bit as important as finishing.

And guess what? I'm not the only one! I've learned that there are many of you out there that feel the same way.

Self described Slow Pokes have agreed that, like me, they enjoy looking at the quilts that some quilters manage to crank out with speed and regularity, but like me, they feel guilty and "less than" when looking at those too much.

As self described Slow Pokes, we need to remember not to measure ourselves by that frantic paced yardstick.  It's not fun anymore if we have to hurry at it or feel that we are letting somebody down if we aren't done by a week from Tuesday.

I have enough deadlines in my life.  Quilting is my escape from deadlines!  I'm making art.  Don't rush me.
